Little Wolf Instincts is on a mission to upend the dog-grooming status quo by redesigning the whole grooming journey—paw to tail, scissors to soul. Our comprehensive trainer program hones the craft of folks who already know how to cut hair and speak industry standards.
We turn competent groomers into confident masters.
We also build groomers from the ground up: teaching salon flow and intuitive movement, modern cutting techniques, how to read and respond to each dog’s unique needs and breed standards, and mindful body mechanics so groomers stay strong, flexible, and injury-free for the long haul.
This helps our groomers enjoy long, healthy careers and stay physically fit for life.

Welcome to the sacred world of Little Wolf Instincts!
Where every space, every moment is built with intuition and intention.
Thank you for being a part of this movement to transform the dog grooming
industry into a holistic, dog-centric model!
Our 8-week comprehensive and "conscious" dog grooming course integrates professional technical training with "Fear Free" concepts, mindfulness, and trauma-aware handling to ensure animal well-being and groomer safety and enjoyment.
Our Weekly Curriculum Summary
Weeks 1–2: Foundation & Safety. Focus on salon standards, AKC safety protocols, sanitation, and observing canine behavior to recognize stress signals.
Weeks 3–4: Prep Work & Anatomy. Hands-on instruction for bathing, drying, and brushing based on coat type. Students study canine anatomy and health to identify skin issues or structural restrictions.
Weeks 5–6: Tool Mastery & Basic Techniques. Training with professional clippers and shears. This phase often introduces "conscious" methods, such as desensitization and positive association, to help dogs feel comfortable with grooming tools.
Weeks 7–8: Advanced Styling & Behavior Modification. Learning breed-specific patterns (head, body, feet, tail). This period includes managing difficult behaviors using Master Groomer Behavior Specialist principles, which prioritize the dog's emotional state over speed.
Week 8: Final Assessment & Business Basics. Completion of full grooms under supervision. Students also learn "mindful" customer service and how to manage a business or home-based salon.
This course requires our students to be in person at the salon Monday - Thursday, 9:00a.m.-3:00p.m. to get hands on experience.
Fridays are remote on-line modules and self led discovery sessions.
